Tahune Airwalk

Tahune Forest Reserve I Tasmania

TANNER ARCHITECTS are lead consultant and Architects for the design and construction of new entry and exit shelters for the Tahune Airwalk Forest Experience, south of Geeveston. 

In January 2019 the Dell River fire burnt vast swathes of southern forest, and destroyed the existing entry and exit shelters at the Tahune Airwalk facility. The Visitor centre and Airwalk Structure itself were mostly undamaged. The forest surrounding the Airwalk site was left blackened and unstable.

The shelter design responds the project brief for structures that reflect a narrative of forest fire and renewal Operating under strict site management control.
